Jennings Beer Tour
When staying at Ouse Bridge Guest House you will receive buy one get one free tour vouchers for Jennings Brewery. Situated in Cockermouth at the confluence of the rivers Derwent and Cocker, Jennings Brewery has a Tour twice a day during the summer months with occasional evening tours. Find out how their real ales are brewed using water from the brewery’s own well and the finest malt and hops.
The Lakes Distillery
Recently opened in December 2014, The Lakes Distillery produces it’s own whisky, gin and vodka. Tours of the Distillery are available every day and purchases can be made at the distillery shop. There is also the Bistro & Bar for those wishing to dine out.

Alpacaly Ever After offer guided private alpaca walks for you and your family and friends, or mixed group walks with a gang of fellow alpaca lovers, around the stunning grounds of the Lingholm Estate along the shores of the famous Derwent Water.
Lake District Wildlife Park
The park has 24 acres of parkland housing 100 species of wild and domestic animals cared by their qualified and highly motivated keepers. Located in the middle of the Lake District it is a fantastic backdrop to view the many different animals.
Keswick Launch
Enjoy the beauty of Derwent Water and its surrounding scenery by taking a boat trip on the Keswick launch. Take advantage of the hop on/hop off facility afforded by it’s 7 landing stages, and enjoy a lovely lakeside walk on the west side of Derwent water before jumping back on the Keswick launch from it’s southern piers.
Castlerigg Stone circle
Castlerigg Stone Circle has 38 free standing stones and is situated just outside Keswick and is one of Britain’s earliest stone circles dating back to over 4000 years ago.
Pencil Museum
Located in Keswick, the Pencil Museum is home to the world’s longest pencil. Trace the history of how pencils have been made in the past and how they are made today. Other displays demonstrate the uses of pencils, with helpful hints and tips for budding artists. There is a children’s area where they can “have a go” with different pencils and crayons.
Puzzling Place
The Puzzling Place’s ‘World of Illusion’ takes the theme of Illusion and runs with it. It is home to the ‘Anti-gravity Room’, ‘Ames Room’, ‘Hologram Gallery’ and ‘Eyelusions Exhibition’. It’s a fascinating, fun and social excursion into the wonderful world of optical illusion.
Whinlatter Forest
Situated between Ouse Bridge Guest House and Keswick, Whinlatter Forest contains a surprising range of adventure activities. Choose from the numerous mountain bike trails (bikes can be hired) or the many walks within the forest. There is also the fabulous Go-Ape tree top course and the Whinlatter Wild Play trail for children of all ages. For those wishing for more sedate activities, there is a video link to the Osprey nest at Bassenthwaite Lake. Those looking for something to eat will enjoy the locally sourced food at the Siskin café.
Wordsworth House
Located in Cockermouth, Wordsworth House is the birthplace and childhood home of William Wordsworth. An interactive tour around the house allows you to relive the home as it would have been when William Wordsworth lived there. You’re able to taste 18th century recipes, talk with maids and manservants who are hard at work within the home and visit the ghosts within the cellar.
Honister Slate Mine
Originally selling Westmorland Green Slate, Honister Slate Mine now also offers a range of activities for those looking for adventure. Tours of the mine are available but for those looking to raise the heartbeats why not try the Via Ferrata experience of climbing along the old slate track on the precipitous outer incline of Fleetwith.
