It goes without saying that most people love to holiday during the peak months of summer to coincide with school holidays, a warmer climate, and longer nights to enjoy. That being said, there is a growing cohort of our guests, and holidaymakers from the UK, Ireland and beyond who’ve decided to schedule their stay with us in the shoulder season September and early October. We’re ready, waiting, and eager to welcome you to Ouse Bridge House, Keswick is the heart of the Lakes District in late summer/early autumn, and here’s why.
As the peak crowds subside from the Lake District, we bid adieu to the many families, couples and solo travellers who return to the routine of life. Visitor attractions, accommodation and transport costs tend to be cheaper as the volume of people decreases and so value for money is there for the taking. A reminder to always book direct with us at Ouse Bridge House for best prices and availability.
We are all bearing witness to the extraordinary affect that climate change is having on our weather pattens. It’s not an exaggeration to say that we are incredibly lucky to have weather in September that is forgiving for most and allows us to enjoy the best of the long, dry, and sunny days (hopefully) ideal for hiking and outdoor life. Don’t forget your rainjacket and waterproofs just in case!
In September, the Lake District is elegance personified, there is a hint of autumn yellows and golds reflected in the glorious scenery, the lakes are glistening, and the flora is still blooming.
To experience sunrise or sunset in the Lake District is a beautiful thing, and to use the cliché, seeing is believing. When skies are clear, our sunsets alone, are worth a visit.
Our local towns and villages beckon with music, events, talks, theatre, and other performances to entertain and delight our visitors. Feel free to ask us about local events and details of wellness and well-being retreats that we host right here in house.
So, we now know that September is a special time to visit, see, do and experience, you’ve no excuse for not paying us a visit.
