BJJ in the Lakes brings you two amazing things in one place. Your love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, combined with the incredible beauty of the Lake District National Park. Win!

Over the weekend bank holiday  you will experience fun and focussed training, alongside open mat sessions with Black Belt Chris Fensom (Roger Gracie), Black Belt Ben Richardson (Fensom BJJ) and Black Belt Paul Newby

What to expect:

  • Focussed training: 6 sessions of Jiu Jitsu from Black Belt Instructor over the weekend
  • Accommodation: Stay in our 4 Star Guest House over looking the Lake
  • Nutritious Breakfasts: Cooked & prepared by Nutritional Therapist Virginia
  • ​Experience the Lakes: Guided walks across local fells & to local attractions
  • ​Evening fun: Eating out at local pubs to share stories and talk Jiu Jitsu!

We will be covering all aspects of BJJ ensuring everyone gets to ask lots of questions and find out how to improve their game. Training will take place on Friday evening, Saturday morning/afternoon and Sunday morning/afternoon.

Our venue is found in the hamlet of Dubwath, at the western end of Bassenthwaite Lake near Keswick. Ouse Bridge House over looks both the lake, and the wainwright mountain range including Skiddaw, Ulloch Pike, Carlside, Dodd and Binsey to name a few. We offer beautiful accommodation within a Lakeland Victorian home and a variety of wonderful breakfasts from a traditional cooked cumberland, to vegan and continental, all included in the price of your stay.

Our village pub is a short 1/4 mile walk where hot food is served daily, and the “Orient express train station” cafe is just over the road serving a variety fo home cooked food and drinks too. The famous Lakes Distillery is behind Ouse Bridge a 1/4 mile over the field, and offers fine dining along with a distillery tour and shopping. There is easy access to both Keswick and Cockermouth and of course you can walk out the door straight on to the fells.

We are offering 10 double bedrooms, 2 of which can split in to twin rooms, and 2 can split in to 3 beds.

After training each morning we will be offering free guided walks, the opportunity to head off on your own adventure on the fells, or perhaps you’d prefer to visit the Lakes Distillery or venture in to Keswick, Grasmere or Cockermouth for some shopping or lakeland activities.
